Archoffice is the lead consultant for the $15m upgrade of the ASB Theatre at The EDGE’s Aotea Center. The project is being constructed in two stages . Stage one is now complete and recently featured the International Comedy Festival among other bookings. Stage one involved a comprehensive and major refurbishment of the 20 year old theatre consisting of new stalls floor replacement and seating, new acoustics, HVAC and fire protection ,and new state of the art lighting & sound systems with construction carried out in a very tight time frame by Hawkins construction.
Reaction from all quarters has been very encouraging with plaudits from performers and clients alike. In the NZ Herald on the 11th June Brian Rudman in his regular section Rudman’s City wrote a positive and enlightened review of the new theatres acoustics performance.
