The work the office is involved in at the moment is quite varied and consists of Local Authority amenity and residential projects, along with a large heritage seismic upgrade project. My work, as at December 2014 has mainly been for residential and local authority work as well as two sport club projects.
Birkenhead Library which the office completed in 2009 has won numerous awards at both National and Local level and continues to receive active publicity in the media. The local community love their Library and our office is proud of the result.
Earlier this year I was a keynote speaker on behalf of the NZIA practice series which travelled to 5 NZ cities to help Architects improve their service to the public.
I have a strong interest in Architecture and design in New Zealand and have travelled extensively both locally and internationally. I am a visiting critic at Auckland School of Architecture and Unitec School of Architecture. I am an Assessor with the Registered Architects Board.
I am interested in the result that can be designed by the relationship of architecture to its site in the New Zealand climate and how to engage fully with issues of tactility, form, material detailing, and special relationships related to a client’s brief so that the brief is extended and fulfilled.
