Pukekohe Development

Pukekohe, located approximately 50km south of Auckland City, is a small expanding rural town which is supported by a large horticultural and farming community.

This proposal aims to rejuvenate an existing warehouse in King Street to create a multi-use development.

Our design intention is to restore the buildings industrial aesthetic, celebrating its exposed concrete structure, impressive stud hights and large span spaces. A material palette of exposed brick, painted concrete, black steel sections, powdercoated white plate steel and feature timber elements is proposed.

The ground floor is subdivided into four new principal units with a new main entry, new stairs and lift. To draw public in from the street, a new timber feature wall is proposed, with decorative lighting scattered along its length. New skylights above the double door height arcade space will provide natural lighting.

Upstairs, new veranda's will create enhanced tenancy spaces and further skylights will provide natural lighting within the internal corridor spaces.
